Here is most of an ex-pat family from Cincinatti who will be moving to Corozal for many of the same reasons I am leaving. He is also concerned about compulsory military service for his sones. Here they are standing next to the town symbol - a Corozo tree - a symbol of growth and fertility, which has died. There is a slightly perverse and poignant humor at work here. (Like, um, how hard would it be to plant a new tree?) Tomorrow, early morning, I take a boat to San Pedro.
